Dr. B. R. Basavaraj Reddy is a highly respected and experienced orthopaedic surgeon with over four decades of dedicated service in orthopaedics. Throughout his distinguished career, he has been committed to providing comprehensive, ethical, and patient-centered orthopaedic care while contributing significantly to medical education and the development of orthopaedic services.

He completed his MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Belagavi, between 1973 and 1979. Following his internship, he gained valuable clinical experience at Sion Hospital, Mumbai, before pursuing postgraduate training in Orthopaedics at Karnataka Medical College, Hubballi, from 1979 to 1984, earning both his Diploma in Orthopaedics (D.Ortho) and Master of Surgery (M.S. Orthopaedics).

Dr. Basavaraj Reddy began his government service as a Medical Officer in the Department of Orthopaedics at the District Hospital, Belagavi, where he served for nearly eight years. During this period, he also worked as an Honorary Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi, actively teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

He later joined the District Hospital, Gadag, as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, where he played a pivotal role in establishing and developing the Department of Orthopaedics despite limited resources. Over the next eight years, he successfully built the department into a well-functioning unit, managing a wide range of trauma cases, fractures, dislocations, and complex orthopaedic conditions.

In 1992, Dr. Basavaraj Reddy started his private orthopaedic practice in Gadag. His commitment to quality care led to the establishment of Basavaraj Hospital, a dedicated orthopaedic centre equipped to provide comprehensive orthopaedic services. Over the years, he has successfully performed numerous major orthopaedic procedures, including the management of complex fractures, spine surgeries, long-bone trauma, and other challenging orthopaedic cases.

Since 2025, he has been serving as the Founder and Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Dr. Basavaraddi's Sapthagiri Multispeciality Hospital & Research Centre, where he continues to provide advanced orthopaedic care and perform a wide range of orthopaedic surgeries. His unwavering dedication, vast clinical expertise, and compassionate approach have earned him the trust and respect of thousands of patients.
